White House Reacts with Humor to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Surprise Wedding Announcement

All eyes have been on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding this week, as fans eagerly followed every detail of the ceremony.

However, one particular reaction to their marriage announcement caught the public’s attention.

The couple was married at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3, with around 1,000 guests in attendance. Among the attendees were Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, and Blake Lively.

Following the ceremony, digital billboards outside the venue displayed the message ‘JusT&T Married,’ confirming the union of Swift and Kelce.

The internet quickly chimed in, and a specific response gained viral traction.

The White House’s official X account posted a satirical version of the announcement, featuring a doctored billboard displaying “Trump is your president” with the caption “IT’S HAPPENED!!’.

This appears to be part of the ongoing dialogue between President Donald Trump and the famous singer.

Earlier in the week, on Thursday, July 2, Trump shared an Eras-themed tour poster with historical figures like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, along with a caption alluding to Swift’s song lyrics.

The tension between Trump and Swift dates back to the 2024 presidential election when Swift endorsed Trump’s opponent, then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

At that time, Trump expressed his displeasure on Truth Social, stating, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

In May 2025, he continued his criticisms on Truth Social, quipping that Swift was “No longer ‘hot'” since his previous remarks.

Despite their apparent rivalry, Trump took a more conciliatory tone regarding the couple’s engagement announcement in August 2025.

He told reporters that he wished the couple ‘a lot of luck’, and praised Kelce as ‘a great player’ and a ‘great guy’.

Moreover, he described Swift as a ‘terrific person’.

Swift and Kelce, who began their relationship in the summer of 2023, announced their engagement in August 2025 through a shared social media post, featuring the NFL star proposing. Swift cleverly alluded to their careers, joking in the caption that “your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

With extensive security measures at Friday’s wedding, including blacked-out vehicles and an underground entrance, it’s doubtful the newlyweds were aware of the White House’s satirical post at the time.

Whether they decide to address it after the festivities conclude remains uncertain.
