Gaten Matarazzo of Stranger Things describes living with this particular co-star as utterly ‘disgusting’

Two stars of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things lived together in an apartment that eventually turned ‘disgusting’, according to one of them.

Gaten Matarazzo shared that after moving in with his co-star from the show, the condition of their flat deteriorated to the point where it became unwelcoming to guests.

It’s a scenario many can relate to – two individuals who may already have messy tendencies find that clutter accumulates until the living space is no longer guest-friendly.

This can lead to a burst of tidying to make the home presentable again, only for the cycle to repeat itself.

Unfortunately, this was the experience of Matarazzo, known for his role as Dustin Henderson on the series. He spoke about these living conditions in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

He admitted that when he and Finn Wolfhard shared an apartment during filming, things became quite messy over time.

“I would look around, like, three months after we were living together and be like, ‘This place is disgusting, what are we doing?'” Matarazzo recounted.

The state of their apartment became so bad that they avoided having people over due to embarrassment.

Matarazzo noted: “Both of us would be like, ‘No. Do not come 10 feet to our home.'”

He explained that they were on the same wavelength, with the mess initially contained to their bedrooms before it spread to the shared areas, and neither held the other to any cleanliness standard.

Realizing they couldn’t host friends with the apartment in such a state, they decided it was necessary to clean up.

This revelation comes as Stranger Things approaches its conclusion at the end of the year.

The groundbreaking show has enjoyed almost a decade-long run on Netflix, emerging as one of the platform’s most successful series with its nostalgic supernatural sci-fi narrative.

However, like all things, the series is heading towards a promised spectacular finale in its fifth and final season, with fans gearing up for a final journey to Hawkins, Indiana.

The Duffer brothers have assured that the series will reach a significant and heartfelt end, stating that they have envisioned the conclusion for some time.

In an interview with Variety, Duffer stated: “We knew roughly what the end scene was for years – it wasn’t something we had to strain to come up with.”

In line with current streaming trends, the final season is being released in multiple parts.

The first part was made available on 26 November, followed by the second part on Christmas Day, and the series finale will be released on New Year’s Eve.
