Jamie Lee Curtis expressed her thoughts on Donald Trump while discussing Princess Diana’s global influence.
During her appearance on the British morning program This Morning, Jamie Lee Curtis aimed to promote her new film, Ella McCay, but couldn’t resist sharing her views on the current state of American politics.
Curtis recounted her near-encounter with Princess Diana, highlighting the significant impact the royal had as a role model. She then drew a comparison between the royal family’s influence and Donald Trump’s.
While shooting the 1997 film, Fierce Creatures, Curtis was thrilled to learn that Princess Diana, along with Prince William and Harry, were going to visit the set.
Unfortunately, Curtis missed the chance to meet them, but exchanged letters with Diana shortly afterward.
With emotion, Curtis lauded Diana as an ‘extraordinary person’ and contrasted her public influence with that of current US political figures.

She remarked: “What an example [Princess Diana was], and look where I live and look at the example of the people leading my country, and the hatred they spew, and the way they treat people and the way they talk about people and look at the way she lived her life.”
Curtis suggested there may be a future shift away from the current political climate in the US. She specifically criticized Donald Trump, highlighting his interaction with a female reporter whom he derogatorily called ‘piggy’.
The actress elaborated: “I think that his wagging his finger at a woman, calling her piggy… has woken us up to an unacceptable behavior that we cannot have be the legacy of the United States of America.
“I think that unhinged moment of his abuse and vile behaviour is going to be his undoing.”
This incident took place on November 14, involving Trump and Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey, who was traveling with the president on Air Force One.
During the flight, Lucey inquired about any ‘incriminating’ content in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein emails, which agitated Trump.
He retorted: “Quiet. Quiet, piggy.”
“You are the worst! You’re with Bloomberg, right? You are the worst!” Trump reacted, continuing: “I don’t know why they even have you.”
A White House official later defended Trump’s behavior, telling PEOPLE: “This reporter behaved in an inappropriate and unprofessional way towards her colleagues on the plane.
“If you’re going to give it, you have to be able to take.”
