Meghan Trainor has addressed remarks about her weight loss after facing significant criticism online.
In the public eye, celebrities frequently encounter online commentary about their appearance or career, which often comes with their status.
However, situations can become unpleasant when so-called ‘fans’ begin to mock or demean someone based on how they look.
Meghan Trainor, the singer, has now spoken out, pointing out that a lot of the negative reactions she’s been receiving recently have been especially distressing.
This follows the 31-year-old artist, known for her 2014 breakout hit ‘All About That Bass’, revealing that she shed 60 pounds with the help of the GLP-1 drug Mounjaro.
Earlier this year, Trainor shared on Instagram: “I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy, and I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

However, in a recent conversation with Extra, Trainor remarked: “Like, all my comments were just evil, attacking me.”
“I started posting pictures of myself recently, just like I always did.
“But for some reason a flame went off, and everyone got mad. Just like, ‘Ew, I don’t recognize you, you’re just a walking nose.’ Just crazy stuff, like mean.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she reflected on the harsh feedback, noting: “The world’s getting crazier and meaner and they’re louder, and I’m like: ‘Is it ’cause they’re getting louder or is it ’cause I’m getting worse?’ And I’m not.”
“I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level, and I’ve never felt better, and I look incredible, I feel great and that’s when people attack me? I was like: ‘What?’”
Despite the negativity, Trainor expressed that she ‘feels great’ and is at her ‘healthiest’.

She mentioned that her motivation to become healthier came after having two children, with her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, by her side.
Trainor elaborated: “I had to learn what food was healthy for me and what was good for my digestion. I thought I was eating healthy for a while, and I learned that I had leaky gut and IBS and all these symptoms.”
“I was like, ‘This is exhausting. I was physically fit, but I can’t gain muscle what’s going on?’”
She admitted that the critical comments affected her deeply, leading her to tears and seeking solace in therapy.
“I cried so much. They got to me, and my therapist was like, ‘You give them too much power. I wish I didn’t.’ So, I’m trying to learn at 31 not to give strangers power. It feels silly,” she shared.
In her conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Trainor concluded: “I’m taking care of myself. I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”
