President Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, indicating a potential escalation by stating he might hit them ‘hard again tonight’ following his declaration that the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran ‘is over’.
Although attending a NATO summit in Turkey, President Trump’s attention remains firmly on the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Last month, the two nations had signed a 14-page agreement that extended the ceasefire, aiming to resolve the conflict ‘on all fronts’.
However, tensions flared anew last night (July 7) as both countries engaged in fresh hostilities. The U.S. claimed responsibility for targeting over 80 Iranian sites in overnight strikes.
These American actions were in response to incidents involving three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz earlier that week, for which Iran has not officially accepted responsibility.
When questioned by reporters in Turkey today (July 8) about the status of the ceasefire, President Trump delivered a forceful statement.
The president remarked: “To me, I think it’s over.

“I don’t want to deal with them anymore, they’re scum. You know what scum is? They’re scum. They’re sick people. They’re led by sick people. And they’re vicious, violent people.”
He further stated: “We hit them very hard last night … probably hit them hard again tonight. I’ll give a little warning, we’re going to hit them hard tonight.”
President Trump criticized Iran’s government as ‘liars’, alleging they would utilize a nuclear weapon against the West if given the chance.
Continuing his remarks, Trump said: “We make a deal. Iran go outside, talk to the press, they say ‘we never even talked about it’. There’s something wrong with them.

“They’re cuckoo. As far as I’m concerned, it’s over.”
Despite these strong statements, Trump’s negotiating team remains optimistic about the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran.
“I’ll speak to our negotiators, they’re good people. Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, but they have to come back to me.
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s just a waste of time dealing with them.”
Referring to a significant issue in the peace negotiations, the president concluded: “They will never build a nuclear weapon under our deal.”
