Big Brother 28 cast unveiled: Drag Race alum, UFC athlete, and pop star’s daughter enter the house

The anticipation surrounding Big Brother 28 has come to an end as CBS has taken an unconventional approach by unveiling the new houseguests through a special YouTube “Broveal” livestream.

Fourteen contestants are set to enter the newly designed house for the much-awaited 90-minute premiere, slated for Thursday, July 9.

This season of Big Brother comes with a captivating ‘Time Trip’ theme. Julie Chen Moonves hints that time will play a pivotal role, altering both competitions and decor across different decades. The latest group of contestants promises to be one of the most diverse and personality-rich in the show’s history.

In addition to the usual mix of superfans, bartenders, and corporate professionals, this season introduces high-profile crossover stars, celebrity relatives, and top-tier athletes to spice things up.

The standout name from the cast is 35-year-old Jason De Puy. Though his name might not be immediately familiar, reality TV aficionados will recognize him as Salina EsTitties, his unfiltered and iconic drag persona from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 and Drag Race All Stars. Known for his memorable viral confessionals, Jason is open to a potential house romance and promises to offer substantial digital entertainment.

Jason isn’t the only one with a pop-culture legacy entering the house. 25-year-old Honolulu-based attorney Lyric Medeiros carries her own showbiz lineage as the daughter of ’80s pop icon Glenn Medeiros, famous for the hit song “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You.” Another contestant, 57-year-old LaTrice Verrett, aims to become the show’s oldest winner and is the niece of Robert “Kool” Bell, the legendary co-founder of Kool and the Gang.

The competition’s high stakes, with its $750,000 grand prize, have already sparked strategic paranoia. Lyric plans to keep her legal background under wraps. Similarly, 24-year-old rocket scientist Mallory Aurichio and 32-year-old UFC/MMA lightweight fighter Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk plan to disguise their real-world professions to avoid being perceived as intellectual or physical threats.

Adding to the tension, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed a significant twist. The 14 revealed houseguests are just the beginning, as Survivor icon Rick Devens from Edge of Extinction will join them on premiere night. Big Brother alum Angela Murray from Season 26 will also return, as reported by Men’s Journal. CBS has further hinted that another controversial Survivor veteran will join, shaking up the game before the first eviction cycle.
