The White House has verified that Donald Trump engaged in a discussion with FIFA President Gianni Infantino prior to the contentious decision to lift the suspension on US forward Folarin Balogun.
“The President and Infantino did speak, and the President wanted to better understand the reason why a red card was given and why there was a suspension,” the White House stated in a communication to UNILAD.
“The appeal process is managed by an independent board.
“The U.S. government supplied additional evidence that contributed to the appeal’s review.
“Ultimately the correct and proper outcome was achieved.”
