Olivia Wilde reveals surprising insight into Hollywood swingers, shocking Penélope Cruz

Olivia Wilde did not hold back during a candid conversation about Hollywood’s rumored swingers, leaving Penélope Cruz in disbelief.

During an interview with Allure for ‘Truth Serum’, where celebrities unveil industry secrets, Wilde and Cruz played along. A clip from the game, which aired on Thursday (July 2), featured Cruz alongside her co-star from the film The Invite as they discussed the project.

However, the focus quickly shifted from the 2026 comedy to a different topic altogether. Wilde brought up the alleged swingers community in Hollywood, catching Cruz off guard.

“What the f*** do I know?” Cruz responded, emphasizing her busy life filled with family and work.

Laughing, Wilde continued: “It doesn’t have to be you, but are swingers a real thing?”

Cruz replied, “If they exist, they don’t tell me about it. I mean, I don’t know stories about that, but if you know, you better tell me because I like knowing everything. And I don’t repeat it. I wouldn’t share that information, but I would like to know.”

Wilde, having heard of some rumors, leaned in to quietly share names with Cruz, who gasped in response, joking about the microphones capturing their conversation.

Wilde clarified that she had never witnessed anything herself, acknowledging that Hollywood rumors can spiral out of control.

Cruz humorously suggested they should ‘invest some of our time’ to see if these rumors hold any truth.

“Okay, I’m open to that,” Wilde responded. “I like that mission.”

This discussion follows Wilde’s recent comments on beauty standards in Hollywood. On the The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, she spoke about the persistence of cosmetic surgery, advocating for a more refined approach instead of what she described as ‘medieval’ methods.

“There’s something so medieval about a lot of these things,” Wilde remarked, mentioning the criticism she faces about her appearance and the pressures to avoid such treatments.

“I’ve had the thing of people being like, ‘She looks old and dead and awful.’ And you’re like, ‘Fuck! How do you win? It’s impossible.'”
