Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has opened up about his personal relationship with Kim Kardashian, shedding light on the years of public curiosity surrounding their high-profile friendship.
The 41-year-old driver and the 45-year-old Kardashians star have been part of the same exclusive social circles for almost ten years.
Rumors about their friendship intensified over the past year when Kardashian was frequently seen in the Mercedes team garage during various international races, including notable events in Miami and Monaco.
Although the pair has largely kept their relationship out of the public eye, Hamilton recently addressed their connection with a heartfelt admission during a live event.
“Lewis, on the track and off the track, you are a much happier man this year, and for everyone here, that is great to see,” said broadcaster David Croft during a conversation with the seven-time champion at a fan event in Silverstone before the British Grand Prix.
Receiving cheers from the audience, another racing driver inquired, “Is that because it’s a fast car or a new girlfriend?”
Hamilton playfully replied, “Yeah, that’s a good one.”
This led Croft to joke, “You know why he’s asking? He just needs to know if Kimi needs two towels or not,” referring to an incident where Kardashian used a towel meant for Kimi Antonelli at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Discussing what has improved his mood this year, Hamilton mentioned, “Once you spend a year with this team, Ferrari is still the most iconic team of all time, and they’ve had a difficult period of time.”
He continued, “It’s such an amazing team and they’ve been so welcoming. The first year was obviously very tough but to finally see the hard work we’re all putting in, it’s finally getting us back to where we want to be.”
Concluding with, “And of course, of course, it’s Kim,” Hamilton added, eliciting more cheers from the audience before Croft confirmed, “It’s great to see. It really is.”
These remarks came shortly after Kardashian attended the Monaco Grand Prix to support her boyfriend, where Hamilton was seen blowing a kiss to her from the podium after securing a second-place finish.
“It’s amazing to have her come this weekend and have the support,” Hamilton commented on the SKIMS founder’s presence at the event.
He continued, “But, you know, with my friends, incredible turnout, just overall, the people. It’s amazing to have good people around you and good people supporting you and she does that for me every day.”
