LAPD Captain Discloses Details of What Officers Found in Singer D4vd’s Tesla with Decomposing Body

Authorities are investigating the tragic death of a teenage girl discovered in the trunk of a vehicle linked to musician D4vd, offering clarification on significant aspects of the distressing incident.

While the singer, aged 20, was on tour, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, missing since April 2024, was located inside his car’s trunk in September.

Following this shocking find, various rumors emerged on social media, including claims that Hernandez had been found decapitated and frozen within the vehicle.

A captain from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has since provided a statement, addressing crucial elements of the case, which is now considered a homicide.

These statements include debunking the widespread rumors about the state of Hernandez’s body upon discovery.

Scot Williams, an LAPD captain and the commanding officer of the Robbery-Homicide Division, addressed PEOPLE to dispel these rumors.

Williams clarified that reports of Hernandez being decapitated and frozen are untrue.

He stated: “Celeste’s body was not frozen. She was not decapitated. The whole frozen thing doesn’t even make sense. Her body was in the car for weeks.”

Williams further explained the impossibility of Hernandez being frozen.

“Even if she had been frozen solid when she was put in the car (which there is NO evidence to suggest she was), five or more weeks in the trunk of a car in sweltering heat in the middle of summer would not have resulted in a partially frozen body being discovered on September 8th.”

The vehicle in which Miss Hernandez was found had been deserted, and her body was discovered by employees at a car impound facility.

These workers uncovered the grim scene after detecting an unpleasant odor emanating from the car.

On November 24, the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner indicated that they received a court directive from the LAPD to place a security hold on Hernandez’s case.

“No records or details associated with the case, including the cause and manner of death and Medical Examiner report, can be released or posted on the website until further notice,” the medical examiner said in a statement.

“The Department understands the public’s interest in this case and remains committed to transparency when possible. Information will be made available once the court order is lifted.”

D4vd has not made any public statements regarding the investigation, faces no charges, and his representatives have previously confirmed his cooperation with the police.
