Matthew McConaughey has disclosed an unusual ‘wet dream’ that he credits for his fulfilling family life.
Recently, McConaughey has been opening up about personal aspects of his life, especially regarding his relationship with his wife.
The actor has been partnered with Camila Alves, a Brazilian American model and designer, since 2006, with the couple marrying in 2012.
Together, they have three children: Levi, who is 17, Vida, 15, and Livingston, 12.
In an interview with People, the 56-year-old shared that he encountered his wife at a club: “She showed up, and she moved right to left in front of my eyes across that club. It was as if she was floating.”
He elaborated: “And I did not say, ‘Who is that?’ I said, ‘What is that?’ And then introduced myself. Since that evening, I have not wanted to spend time with any other woman.”
However, this encounter might not have occurred if he hadn’t heeded a wet dream he experienced months prior.

In his newsletter, Lyrics of Livin’, he detailed his dating experiences in his 30s.
“In my mid-30s, I was looking for a lifetime lover, a best friend, and a mother-to-be. I was looking for more, I was looking for the one, I was looking for her,” he wrote. “Then I had a wet dream.”
In this dream, he envisioned himself at 88 years old with 88 children, all born to 22 women.
He described the women as ‘serene and satisfied,’ with their children ‘smiling, laughing, and healthy.’
The dream concluded with everyone posing for a family photo on the driveway. “Three! Two! One! Then I came,” the actor recounted.
McConaughey interpreted this as a ‘spiritual sign’ to stop actively seeking the ideal partner and instead allow the process of natural selection to take its course.
“So I quit looking for her,” he recalled. “Three months later, I met Camila. Twenty years later she’s still the only woman I’ve ever wanted to take on a date, sleep with, or wake up next to.”
But that’s not the only insight into his marriage he’s shared.

Earlier this year, he discussed a key element for a happy marriage: the size of the bed.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, he mentioned something he wrote about in his book Poems & Prayers: “I wake up one morning … I’m looking over there, and Camila’s like a football field away, man.”
He continued: “You’re like, ‘Man, this damn king-size bed is not good for the marriage, man. Get rid of that son of a b****.’
“So, we got a queen-size, where we’re shoulder to shoulder. I’m telling you, it’s good for your marriage.”
He also noted that this arrangement prevents the children from climbing into their bed, emphasizing that their bedroom remains a kid-free zone.
