Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha have been surrounded by rumors of a split after Usha was seen without her wedding ring.
The couple gained significant attention when JD was chosen as Donald Trump’s running mate for the 2024 presidential election.
At 41 years old, JD is one of the youngest individuals in the U.S. to have accepted such a nomination.
Their personal lives became even more scrutinized when Trump assumed the presidency and JD officially became the Vice President.
Supporting him throughout these events has been his wife Usha, whom he married in 2014. Together, they have three children: Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.
Despite their seemingly strong relationship, JD was embroiled in controversy last month after an encounter with Erika Kirk, where she placed her hand on the back of his head and ran her fingers through his hair.

The incident was labeled as ‘inappropriate’ by many observers.
Following this event, Usha has been seen without her wedding ring. A representative for the Second Lady addressed the issue, telling People that Usha is “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
Amidst the speculation about their marriage, we revisit JD and Usha’s relationship story.

The two reportedly met in 2010 while studying law at Yale. They both participated in a discussion group on “social decline in white America,” according to BBC News.
In his memoir, JD expressed that he “fell hard” for Usha upon meeting her, describing her as a “genetic anomaly” due to her many admirable qualities.
He also mentioned that he “violated every rule of modern dating” by declaring his love for her on their first date.
Usha, née Chilukuri, and JD married in Kentucky in June 2014, a year after graduating from Yale.
They celebrated their union with both Christian and Hindu ceremonies, as reported by Business Insider. Usha, who was born and raised Hindu, is believed to still practice her faith, though JD has recently spoken about his hopes for her conversion to Christianity.

Their first child, Ewan, was born in June 2017, followed by their second son, Vivek, in 2020.
According to People, the family celebrated Vivek’s fourth birthday on the Senate floor in February 2024 when JD was serving as a senator from Ohio.
Their daughter Mirabel was born in December 2021. JD announced the birth of their third child in a now-deleted Instagram post, stating: “We were blessed with an early Christmas present this year. Everyone please meet Mirabel Rose Vance, our first girl. Mama and baby both doing great, and we’re feeling very grateful this Christmas season.”
Although Usha was raised as a Hindu, it is reported that they are raising their children in the Christian faith.
