Elon Musk Reveals Startling Video of Tesla Robots in Action, Leaving Viewers Alarmed

Elon Musk’s recent post on his X page has sparked apprehension among social media users after he shared a new AI video.

The Tesla CEO’s Optimus Gen 2 robots have previously unsettled many online, but the vision for these robots is, as stated on the company’s website, to ‘create a general purpose, bi-pedal, autonomous humanoid robot capable of performing unsafe, repetitive, or boring tasks’.

Musk has given examples of potential tasks for these robots, like folding clothes or pouring drinks.

Today (November 21), Musk revealed an AI-generated video illustrating what life could look like with Optimus robots integrated into daily activities, highlighting the potential and aspirations for this advancing technology.

Despite its intentions, the video has received a mixed response from social media users.

The video, crafted by Alex Utopia using Grok Imagine and Nano Banana Pro, showcased Optimus robots undertaking various professions, such as chef, police officer, construction worker, and paramedic.

The video also depicted robot influencers recording themselves in public spaces or on beaches.

One robot was shown enjoying whiskey and playing poker, but some viewers weren’t impressed, equating it to a dystopian film like 2004’s I, Robot.

One person commented: “We don’t f**king want this, Elon. We’ve already seen the movies.”

Another remarked: “It’s 2025, and while the world’s population grows, instead of creating more jobs, we’re focusing on replacing existing ones with robots, which is disheartening.”

A third stated: “Looks Just Like A Scene From iRobot,” while another said: “I hate everything about this. Humans should never be replaced by AI or robots. Ever!! The movie iRobot is becoming real.”

Despite the apprehensions, some individuals embraced this vision of the future.

One person commented: “This isn’t about the montage, it’s about Tesla showing the types of tasks Optimus will handle as the hardware catches up. Every robot revolution started with a vision video.”

Another added: “The future showed up early. Robots in real-world jobs aren’t sci-fi anymore — they’re inevitable.”

A third user expressed mixed feelings, saying: “Working as a paramedic – this would truly change the game. Kinda afraid but kinda very curious. Let’s see what happens when robots take over.”

Musk has previously mentioned his belief that ‘Optimus will be the biggest product of all time by far’ and anticipates that by 2040, there will be at least 10 billion humanoid robots in existence.

“Nothing will even be close. I think it’ll be 10 times bigger than the next biggest product ever made,” he shared with Tesla employees in April.
